    TNI Commander Oversees the Search Process for the KRI Nanggala-402 Submarine in Bali

    INDOLIN.ID ■ TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto went directly to the search for the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine in the waters north of Bali Island today, Thursday (22/4).

    The Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Achmad Riad, explained that Marshal Hadi would monitor the search process together with the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL), Admiral Yudo Margono.

    "He arrived and later will take a helicopter to KRI Soeharso to observe directly," he told reporters.

    He explained that Marshal Hadi directly monitors to get detailed data, which will later be conveyed directly to the public.

    Where should the press conference be held this morning, but because there is no detailed data yet, the press conference was postponed in the afternoon.

    "He still wants to get a more detailed information and it is planned that he will directly KRI Soeharso to meet with Mr. KSAL, so that the detailed data on what conditions are from the data that has been submitted so that he can convey more clearly," said Achmad Riad.

    The search process for KRI Nanggala-402 which lost contact in the northern waters of Bali was continued this morning, Thursday (22/4).

    A number of ships belonging to the TNI were deployed in an effort to find the ship which had lost contact since Wednesday morning (21/4).

    The ship is suspected of having suffered damage to the fuel tank. This is along with the discovery of an oil spill at the starting point of the dive boat.

    The Nanggala-402 was due to participate in torpedo firing exercises today. The boat carrying 53 people went missing after requesting permission to dive on Wednesday morning.(R-01)
