JAKARTA, Aug 14, 2026 — Indonesia's National Internship Program, known as MagangHub, is providing young job seekers with work experience while giving companies an opportunity to identify potential employees, with some participants being hired after completing their internships.
Participants take part in various tasks and responsibilities at companies during the programme, gaining practical experience and developing skills aligned with workplace requirements.
One participant, Keyko, a graduate in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, was hired by PT Bakrie Pipe Industries as a Process Engineer after completing the internship programme and subsequently applying for a position at the company.
“I had many opportunities to learn and contribute directly, which eventually led to my recruitment as a Process Engineer,” Keyko said in a statement issued by the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Manpower on Friday.
Another participant, Agnes Aprilia, who completed her MagangHub internship at AEON Indonesia, said the programme helped her determine her career path after graduating from university. She was later entrusted with a position as a person in charge (PIC) at the company.
From the company's perspective, Suwardiono, an industrial relations representative at PT Bakrie Pipe Industries, said the programme helped connect companies with potential candidates who meet industry requirements.
The company hired five participants from MagangHub Batch 2, while several candidates from Batch 3 are still being considered for recruitment, Suwardiono said.
The National Internship Program through MagangHub is designed to provide participants with practical work experience while allowing companies to assess potential employees through direct workplace exposure.(Janne Sinten)
